About Girls on the Run:
Girls on the Run Central Coast is a nonprofit, youth development organization dedicated to inspiring girls in 3rd-8th grade to be joyful, healthy, and confident. Through evidence-based programming that creatively integrates physical activity, we help girls build essential life skills, develop leadership, and foster meaningful connections. Join us in creating lasting impact in the lives of girls across our region.
Internship Overview:
We are seeking motivated, dependable interns for the 2025-2026 academic year who are passionate about youth empowerment, nonprofit work, and community engagement. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, coaching, and program support in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.
Location: Hybrid - in-person coaching at one of our Central Coast sites, with some remote work.
Time Commitment: 10 hours per week (3 of those hours will be spent coaching a Girls on the Run team. Coaching takes place twice weekly, typically after school.)
Responsibilities:
Support administrative and operational tasks such as data entry, scheduling, and outreach
Assist with seasonal planning and organization of program materials
Communicate with caregivers, and volunteers to support program success
Coach a Girls on the Run team (required): Lead bi-weekly practices using our nationally recognized curriculum, engage with participants, and help facilitate a positive, inclusive team environment
Contribute to program events, trainings, or community outreach efforts as needed
Ideal Candidate:
Enthusiastic about Girls on the Run’s mission and values
Organized, dependable, and proactive
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable working with youth and in diverse communities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must pass a background check and complete coach training (provided)
